Rock out with your socks out
There’s a 5 Seconds of Summer concert coming near you
5 Seconds of Summer, or 5sos, started out as a small Australian band that put out covers of popular songs on the internet.
The YouTube channel was started by lead singer, Luke Hemmings, in February of 2011. Guitarist, Michael Clifford, and bassist, Calum Hood joined Hemmings in making covers and came up with the name 5 Seconds of Summer. They had all the pieces, except a drummer. Through mutual friends on Facebook, the boys found Ashton Irwin and their band was complete.
The four boys started posting group covers of popular songs, eventually gaining a following in 2012. Member of One Direction, Louis Tomlinson, posted on twitter about 5sos’s original acoustic song “Gotta Get Out.” Soon after that One Direction took 5sos with them as a supporting act on their “Take Me Home” tour.
After supporting 1D on their next tour, the “Where We Are” tour, 5 Seconds of Summer released their self-titled debut album and less than a year later they released a live album titled LIVESOS to give their fans a taste of what they were like live.
After releasing their album they announced a new tour that they would be headlining, the Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour. They’ve gone all over the world playing their music and supporting their album.
We’ve all been waiting for this leg of the tour. They’re finally coming to Noblesville, Indiana’s own Klipsch Music Center, Saturday August 22nd with supporting band Hey Violet, who is signed to 5sos’s record label, Hi or Hey Records. Are you excited? I am!
They’ll be playing all of their popular songs, including “She Looks So Perfect”, “Amnesia”, “Good Girls”, and even some of the songs from their new album, Sounds Good, Feels Good, like “Permanent Vacation” and “She’s Kinda Hot”.
And you’re in luck! There are still tickets available to attend this sure-to-be amazing show. They’re a little pricey in some of the better sections but it’s going to be a great time. You can get the tickets online on websites like Live Nation or Ticketmaster or you could also go to Klipsch Music Center’s website to look for them or get them from the box office prior to the show.
All of 5 Seconds of Summer’s shows are really high energy and upbeat so if you do go don’t feel shy about dancing around! That’s part of the fun. I’ve got my tickets and I know it’s going to be a lot of fun. I can’t wait to see you there!
