Senior Mark Zackery was named Indiana Mr. Football today by the Indianapolis Star.
Zackery, who played cornerback and wide receiver for the Giants, is the third BD football player to earn this prestigious award. Quarterback James Bank was the first Mr. Football from Ben Davis, winning the award in 2001 after leading the Giants to the 2001 national championship. Quarterback Reese Taylor won the award in 2017 after leeading BD to a 14-0 record and a state championship.
Zackery helped the Giants win the state championship last year and also has played basketball for the Giants. He will attend Notre Dame in the fall on a football scholarship.
