Week 4 of the 2024-25 NFL season has concluded. Week 4 for the Colts was a thriller, ending in a 27-24 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers at home. This is the second win in a row for the Colts.
This week was an important test for the Colts. Coming into this game the Steelers had the best defense in the NFL when it comes to offensive yardage, and the Colts being one of the worst offenses in the league when it comes to possession time.
The first offensive drive of the game, the Colts had shown they had fixed many problems already by driving down the field immediately and scoring 6. The first quarter the Colts had dominance going up 14-0. While getting the second touchdown, in the redzone Anthony Richardson slid late leading to a Steelers player hitting his hip. This took Anthony Richardson out the game, his final stats being ¾ on 71 yards, and 3 carries for 24 yards.
After Richardson went down veteran, Super Bowl winning QB Joe Flacco took his place. Flacco’s experience propelled the Colts to their second win in a row with giving 0 turnovers, 2 touchdowns, and going 18/26 on passes.
The defense showed its true potential in the first half, shutting them out in the first offensive drive, and only holding them to 3 points in the first half. In the second half the defense started to show mortality, letting up 21 in the last 2 quarters. The Colts showed strength in the last drive stopping the Steelers on 4th down.
The notable injuries of this weeks game were Anthony Richardson going down in the first quarter with a hip injury, since then he’s be considered day by day for the next game. Star running back Jonathan Taylor is also questionable with an ankle sprain. Ryan Kelly, Kenny Moore II, and Kwity Paye are all questionable.
This weekend the Colts take on our AFC south rivals the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars are looking to secure their first victory against a bruised and battered Colts team. The Colts have not won at Jacksonville since 2014, so to win would be a huge morale boost and send the Colts to have a win percentage over .500%.
The Colts play away in Jacksonville at 1 p.m. . Best ways to watch are through CBS, Youtube TV, and Paramount +.
