For only the second time in school history, the Ben Davis wrestling team reached 20 dual-meet wins.
The 20th win came via a 40-21 win at Plainfield to end the regular season. The Giants finished the regular season 20-4 and now turn their attention toward the Avon sectional that begins this Saturday at 9 a.m.
Girls basketball
The girls basketball team dropped a 63-53 home decision to Lawrence North Saturday night. Senior Zoe Wheeler led the team with 24 points. The loss gives the Giants a 5-15 record. The girls host Westfield Tuesday and end the regular season Friday at Carmel.
On Sunday, the IHSAA announced its annual state tournament draw. Ben Davis will begin the Pike sectional next Wednesday against Decatur Central. The complete sectional draw is:

Boys basketball
The Giants defeated Decatur Central 64-48 to improve to 10-3. Ben Davis hosts Carmel this Friday and then travels to Crispus Attucks Saturday night for a matchup of the last two Hall of Fame champions.
Swimming
Both the mens and womens teams suffered a tough loss to Brownsburg on Tuesday night. Top finishers included the mens medley relay (Doyle, Ferguson, Paglia, Church), Tatum Paglia in the 200 IM, Wyatt Caudill in the 50 Free, Ashlinn Dial in the 1 meter dives, Marco Ponce in the 1 meter dives, Tatum Paglia in the 100 Free, Finan Doyle in the 500 Free and 100 Back, Rhylee Eaton and Annie Ray in the 100 Breast, the womens 400 free relay (Balmez, Gibson, Eaton, Harger) and the mens 400 free relay (Caudill, Paglia, Church, Doyle).
Both teams have an 8-3 record. The girls begin sectional action next Thursday at Decatur Central while the boys sectional begins Feb. 15 at Pike.
