Grief. Grief is a scary thing, whether is a person or animal or something or someone.
Grief can consume you in the moment and it’s probably the hardest thing on a person’s mental health.
The real meaning of grief is mental or emotional suffering or distress caused by loss or regret.
Losing someone is hard. It is confusing for your brain because one second they are on this earth talking and breathing and then in a second they could be gone and you could never see them again in this lifetime.
One of the stages of grief is denial, you can’t wrap your mind around them being gone and you can’t accept it, it is like in your mind they are still here you just can’t see them. Anger is another stage. You could be mad at yourself or the world for the person or animal dying.
After many emotions and feelings, you get to acceptance – accepting that the person or animal is gone and is not coming back. Some say this could be the hardest stage or the most peaceful one because you know that they are gone and not coming back and there is nothing you can do about it to bring them back.
Grief never goes away it will be there for your whole life but it does get easier, it just takes a while. Grief is not just for people or animals, people can also grieve objects or places. But at the end, people grieve differently.
