Senior year is always hyped up to be the best year of high school, but is it really that great?
I believe the answer is yes and no. Senior year to me is a mix of overrated expectations and moments that actually live up to why senior year is the best.
Senior year, honestly, seems overwhelming – all the college applications, trying to maintain grades, and trying to enjoy your “last” everything. Seniors are the ones that are supposed to have everything figured out, but really they’re scrambling.
It seems like a stressful year full of big decisions, and on top of these decisions having “senioritis’’ seems like a heavy load itself. Once it hits the second semester, it seems like all seniors are counting down their days until graduation.
On the other hand, senior year is such a big milestone and accomplishment! All their years of hard work finally gets to pay off when you walk across that stage in your cap and gown, making all new memories with new and old friends. These are moments that seniors will remember for the rest of their life. So while senior year can be really fun, the way it is hyped up and the harsh reality of it makes it overrated.
The end of it all can make it worth every single thing they’ve gone through to make it to that point in their life.
