Indiana accepted the new phone policy where it bans cell phones in school this past summer. With us being three months in the school year let’s see how students are taking it. Here are some student reactions to the new policy”
Senior Leslie Corado: “It really doesn’t affect me because the majority of my classes I can still use. I don’t really think there’s any difference from last year.”
Senior Axel Mercado: “It has affected me because I can’t use my music to focus on my work. I really can’t use my phone in any of my classes, I use it after school.”
Senior Brittany Caballero: ¨It really hasn’t affected me as much as I thought. I still use my phone in school throughout the day. I really just think it’s all about the teacher you have in that class and if they are strict or not.¨
Sophomore Joseph Witt: ”The ban did not affect me as much because I already didn’t use my phone, In the freshmen center we really couldn’t use our phones so I really don’t use it and it doesn’t affect me.”
Junior Daniela Sanchez: “Whenever I finish my work I have nothing to do but I still use my phone throughout the day.”
Senior Madison Keller: ”It’s a distraction to me because when I get on my phone I tend to get distracted. But I feel like it’s a benefit to me because I’m not on my phone as much.”
Senior Deryus Tarleton: “I’m still on my phone half of the time. My teachers don’t really say anything and I feel like the ban is not even there.”
Senior Enoch Odutayl: “It really helped me to be more productive and I’ve seen an increase in my grades.”
