Today is National Video Game Day. To celebrate, FOSI asked its video game member companies about all things online safety and video games.
Some ideas for celebrating game day, you could start a gaming marathon with friends, make gaming your only priority, go to a local arcade, see if any near you have opened, and even go commemorate the day in person. Possibly the first video game created simply for entertainment was 1958’s Tennis for Two.
Amir Anderson said his favorite game to play is 2k. He has a play station 4 and plays almost every day unless he is busy. The game is mostly the only thing he takes his anger out on, yelling at his players and others around the world makes him feel better. Whenever he has extra money he buys VC, which is Virtual Currency. He buys the 100,000 vc for $20. He also plays with players from his neighborhood and friends.
Dereck Douglas states his favorite game is Madden. He owns a Xbox. He only plays the game for about 2-3 hours a day because he plays sports. He is not an angry person but if his teammates let him die and don’t help him he yells and screams at them.
Douglas buys VC and VB every once and a while. He only plays with people he knows from school and social media. When Dereck was younger his older cousin hooked him onto the xbox and every since then he has been playing and having fun.
Javan White says his favorite game is Call of Duty – he really enjoys it. He plays the game every day and barely leaves his room.
Once he got so angry at the game that he broke his own tv screen and got in trouble. He doesn’t like to buy vc or vb’s because he thinks they’re not worth his money. White says he only likes to play the game with his family members because he doesn’t like to make new friends. He likes to stay to himself. White heard about Call of Duty on social media and thought he would give it a try.
