Moana 2 hit theaters in late 2024, bringing us back to the awesome world of Oceania. Moana and Maui are back as the main characters. The animation is amazing, as you’d expect from Disney. The ocean, lush landscapes, and colorful islands look beautiful, and the water effects are super realistic. But not all fans are crazy about the storyline, including me. In this sequel, Moana goes on another mission to save her people, with Maui joining her. Some people feel the plot doesn’t have the same charm or originality as the first movie. It seems to recycle a lot of the same themes which feels like the writers should have fresher themes.The music in the sequel isn’t as good either. The soundtrack hasn’t received great reviews, with people saying it doesn’t really push the story forward and the songs aren’t as catchy as the hits from the original. This is a letdown for many fans since the music played a huge role in the first Moana.Still, Moana 2 has been a big hit at the box office, making over $1 billion.
