Michigan State (8-4, 2-4) defeated Rutgers 68-45 and lost 55-54 to Purdue. Aaron Henry led the Spartans with 20 points (8 for 13, 2 for 4, 2 for 2), eight rebounds, one assist, four blocked shots, two steals, and four turnovers in 35 minutes in the win; and had a team high 11 points (3 for 11, 0 for 4, 5 for 6), five rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 28 minutes in the loss.

Miami, Ohio (4-3, 1-1) defeated Northern Illinois 70-58. Josh Brewer started for Miami but played only seven minutes, grabbing one rebound and missing a three point shot.

Taylor (8-7, 2-5) lost 83-70 to Marian and 94-85 to Bethel. Jeff Clayton had two points (0 for 1, 0 for 0, 2 for2), three bounds, and one turnover in nine minutes against Marian; and six rebounds, one turnover, and one missed shot in 15 minutes against Bethel.

Ball State (4-5, 2-2) lost 86-69. Jalen Windham did not play for the Cardinals.

WOMENS BASKETBALL

Toledo (6-3, 2-3) lost 93-78 to Ball State and 85-66 to Toledo. Khera Goss had nine points (3 for 3, 1 for 1, 2 for 4), six rebounds, and two turnovers in 21 minutes against Ball State; and 11 points (3 for 11, 0 for 4, 5 for 6), five rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 28 minutes against Ohio.
