Jazz Coleman, a talented running back, has made the transition from Speedway High School to Ben Davis High School.
Coleman, a junior, has 12 years of football experience. While Coleman did not transfer for sports, he is excited to contribute his skills and enhance the team’s performance.
“My dad played football growing up and he inspired me to play,” Coleman said.
As Coleman approaches the 2025-2026 football season, his senior year, he is looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. When asked about what he is most excited about for the upcoming season, he stated, “I am looking forward to it because I’ll be playing 6A instead of 4A and a lot of people want to see how I play against better competition.”
Although Coleman joined Ben Davis midway through the second semester, he has enjoyed his time here so far. He has embraced the new environment and the opportunities it presents, preparing for the upcoming football season.
“Yes, it’s been welcoming,” he said. “I already know a lot of my teammates. I felt at home because I already knew everybody and the school is a good environment to be in.”
Coleman believes he will bring a vibrant personality to the locker room and a leadership role on the field. As Coleman enters his senior season, he currently holds five college offers and is eager to explore the opportunities that Ben Davis can provide. He hopes to use his skills to gain more attention from college programs.
“I’ll be able to get recognized more and it’ll give me chances to play in front of better recruiters,” he said.
Following his high school graduation, Coleman plans to pursue a college career in football while majoring in sports psychology, aiming to combine his passion for the sport with his academic interests.
