Texas’ Jalil Brewer placed second of 32 in the shot put (65-8 ½) at the very competitive Mount Sac Relays in California.

Indianapolis’ AaronTrejo, competing at Ball State’s We Fly Challenge, placed ninth of 12 in the 1500 (4:26.36).

The Indiana D-III Meet was held at DePauw, and nine teams took part. Hanover’s Jalen Simmons placed second of 10 in the pole vault (14). Franklin’s Corbin Lee was seventh of seven in the 10,000 (38:29.27). Rose-Hulman’s Tyler Speitel placed 14th of 23 in the 800 (2:06.06), and Trine’s Zach Brickler was ninth of 27 in the 5000 (15:35.63).

Running for Vincennes at the Brescia Bearcat Twilight Invitational, Ernest Momodu was eighth in the 800 (2:03.27); and Manamanya Opiew was seventh in the 1500 (9:13.11).

BASEBALL

Ian Schilling pitched one third of an inning for Cumberland (28-16) in an 11-9 win against Bethel (TN) and gave up three hits, one walk and four earned runs.

Zion Avery’s LSU-Shreveport (38-3) won three games by forfeit against Texas College.
