Kailan Keith won by a fall in 29 seconds at 165 pounds for Thomas More in a 34-18 win against Texas Wesleyan. He then lost 9-2 in a 39-8 defeat of Truett-McConnell, GA, but rallied for a win by a fall in 17 seconds in a 39-15 defeat of West Virginia Tech.

WOMENS BASKETBALL

Xavier (4-6) defeated Niagara 82-78 and lost 82-73 to Cincinnati. Nia Clark had two points (1 for 7, 0 for 1, 0 for 2), seven rebounds, five assists, three blocked shots, one steal, and six turnovers in 32 minutes in the win; and 18 points (5 for 11, 3 for 7, 5 for 7), four rebounds, two assists, one blocked shot, and four turnovers in 36 minutes in the loss.

Lakeland (6-4, 3-1) defeated Alvernia 61-34 and Aurora 60-57. Brianna Jones had four points (2 for 8, 0 for 0, 0 for 4), 10 rebounds, one blocked shot, and one steal in 26 minutes against Alvernia; and six points (3 for 9, 0 for 0, 0 for 1), seven rebounds, two steals, three assists, and three turnovers in 34 minutes against Aurora.

Toledo (5-2) defeated St. Francis, PA 86-33 and Loyola , MD 75-53. Khera Goss had 10 points (4 for 6, 2 for 2, 0 for 1), two rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and two steals in 26 minutes against St. Francis; and two points (1 for 3, 0 for 2, 0 for 0), one rebound, and two assists in 18 minutes against Loyola.

Vincennes (9-4) defeated Shawnee 63-48 and John A. Logan 77-67. Cherrelle Newsom had five points (2 for 7, 1 for 4, 0 for 0), two rebounds, two assists, and two turnovers against Shawnee; and a team high 23 points (8 for 17, 5 for 13, 2 for 2), one rebound, a team high five assists, and three turnovers against Logan.

Anderson (4-6) defeated Spalding 79-71, Kalamazoo 76-52, and Earlham 91-48. Maya Turner played a total of 38 minutes in the three wins and had nine rebounds, seven assists, four steals, and three turnovers while missing nine shots from the field, one from behind the arc.

IU-Kokomo (3-8, 2-5) defeated Huntington 62-47 and IU-Southeast 87-62. Michah Jett played four minutes in each win and totaled one rebound, one steal, one assist, and one missed shot.

MENS BASKETBALL

Ball State (4-5) lost 96-50 to Xavier and won 85-58 against IU-Kokomo. Jalen Windham had eight points (2 for 8, 1 for 5, 3 for 3), two rebounds, and one turnover in 21 minutes against Xavier; and nine points (3 for 7, 3 for 5, 0 for 0 ), four rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 19 minutes against IU-Kokomo.

Jackson Gowdy had one rebound, one assist, and one point (0 for 0, 0 for 0, 1 for 2) for Wabash Valley (6-4) in a 65-60 win against State Fair.

Kankakee (9-4) defeated McHenry County 104-86, and DuPage 88-55. Jaylen Jennings had 10 points (3 for 4, 1 for 1, 3 for 4), one rebound, two blocked shots, and one turnover against McHenry County; and six points (1 for 1, 0 for 0, 4 for 4), one rebound, and one turnover against DuPage.

Illinois Central (7-3) defeated the St. Ambrose JVs 82-57 and lost 82-64 to Rock Valley. Josh Shannon had one rebound and one assist in nine minutes against Rock Valley. Stats are not posted for the St. Ambrose JV game.

Taylor (5-8) lost 69-45 to Indiana Tech and won 79-76 against Lincoln Christian. Jeff Clayton had one point (0 for 3, 0 for 0, 1 for 2), five rebounds, three assists, and one blocked shot in 27 minutes against Indiana Tech; and seven rebounds, two assists, three turnovers, and (0 for 4, 0 for 0, 0 for 2)  in 20 minutes against Lincoln Christian.

St. Leo (5-4, 1-2) defeated Fort Lauderdale 70-57. Rob Fry had a team high 24 points (6 for 9, 0 for 0, 12 for 13), two rebounds, two assists, three steals, and four turnovers in 25 minutes in the win.

St. Mary’s (2-3) lost 76-68 to Texas Permian Basin. Josh Brewer had six points (3 for 10, 0 for 2, 0 for 0), one blocked shot, one steal, three rebounds, and three turnovers in 29 minutes in the loss.

WOMENS INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Indianapolis’ Mariah Judy was first of five in the mile (5:31.88) at the University of Indianapolis Winter Meet.

MENS INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD

Competing for Indianapolis in the Indianapolis Winter Meet, Hayden Baldwin was third of three in the 2000 steeplechase (6:55.59); and teammate Aaron Moody was fourth of 14 in the 200 meters dash (23.87) and seventh of 23 in the 60 meters dash (7.23).

Trine and Purdue-Fort Wayne participated in the Indiana Tech Strive for Excellence Indoor Meet. Trine’s Yosef Solomon placed seventh of 15 in the mile (4:48.25); and Fort Wayne’s Dona Fagnon was 14th of 49 in the 200 meters dash (23.33) and 17th of 53 in the 60 meters (7.17).

Indiana State’s Mike Adams placed 24th of 25 in the 200 meters dash (23.73) and 19th of 33 in the 60 meters (7.15) at DePaul’s Blue Demon Holiday Invite.
