Aaron Moody, competing for The University of Indianapolis at the U. of I Season opener,  was first of 16 in the 60 meters dash  (7.12) and first of 13 in the 200 (23.06) .

Purdue-Fort Wayne’s Dona Fagnon placed fourth of 21 in the 60 meters dash (7.13) after having a time of 7.09 in the preliminaries, and placed 15th of 21 in the 200 meter preliminaries (23.79).

Trine’s  Yosef Solomon placed 10th of 12 (2:12.29) in the 800 meters at The University of Mount Union’s Toy Drive Collegiate Opener.

MENS BASKETBALL

St. Leo (4-4, 1-2) defeated Eckerd 68-66 and lost 92-87 to Embry Riddle. Rob Fry started for St. Leo and had one point (0 for 0, 0 for 0, 1 for 2), one rebound, one assist, one steal, and one turnover in 10 minutes in the win; and 13 points (4 for 10, 0 for 3, 5 for 7), three rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one turnover in 28 minutes in the loss.

Taylor (4-7, 2-2) lost 66-44 to Mount Vernon Nazarene and 67-52 to Marian. Jeff Clayton started for Taylor and had two rebounds, one steal, one assist, one turnover and one missed shot in 10 minutes against Nazarene; and six points (1 for 2, 0 for 0, 4 for 8), team highs in rebounds (6) and blocked shots (3), and two assists in 29 minutes against Marian.

Kankakee C.C. (7-4) defeated Oakton 75-50 and lost 71-65 to Southeastern and 65-61 to Rock Valley. Jaylen Jennings played a total of 25 minutes in the three games and had two points (0 for 5, 0 for 0, 2 for 4), five rebounds, one blocked shot, and three turnovers.

Jaylen Windham had four points (0 for 3, 0 for 1, 4 for 5), one rebound, one steal, two assists, and one turnover for Ball State (3-4) in a 93-80 loss to Western Illinois.

St. Mary’s, Texas (2-2) lost 75-65 to Texas-San Antonio and won 96-70 against Houston-Tillotson. Josh Brewer had two points (1 for 6, 0 for 3, 0 for 0), five rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 17 minutes in the loss to UTSA; and a team high 21 points (8 for 13, 5 for 8, 0 for 0), four rebounds, one blocked shot, one assist, and one turnover against Tillotson.

WOMENS BASKETBALL

Lakeland (4-4) lost 63-43 to St. Norbert and won 76-41 against Dominican. Brianna Jones played 24 minutes in each game and had two points (0 for 6, 0 for 1, 2 for 2), five rebounds two blocked shots, one steal, and two turnovers in the loss; and four points (1 for 7, 0 for 1, 2 for 4), 11 rebounds, two assists, and two steals in the win.

Xavier (3-5) lost 76-48 to Marquette and 103-85 to DePaul in Big East action. Nia Clark had four points (2 for 10, 0 for 2, 0 for 0), four assists, and three turnovers in 31 minutes against Marquette; and a team high 16 points (7 for 13, 1 for 4, 1 for 1), one assist, one steal, one blocked shot, and four turnovers in 33 minutes against DePaul.

Vincennes (7-4) lost 72-57 to Three Rivers CC and won 76-68 against Lincoln Trail CC. Cherelle Newsom had a team high 23 points (8 for 17, 7 for 14, 0 for 0), two rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the loss; and eight points (3 for 11, 2 for 10, 0 for 0), three rebounds, five assists, and one steal in the win.

Maya Turner played briefly for Anderson (1-5) in an 89-76 loss to Mount St. Joseph.

Micah Jett played for five minutes for IU-Kokomo (1-8) in an 88-62 loss to Oakland City.

WRESTLING

Kailen Keith won by a major decision (13-2) at 165 pounds for Thomas More in a 42-9 dual meet win against Rochester. In the Indiana Little State at Wabash, he lost his first match but won three in a row after that to place seventh at 165 in a field of 15.
