Thomas runs to win in the 100

Rose-Hulman won the 10 team Heartland Conference Championships, and Franklin placed seventh.  Rose-Hulman’s Noah Thomas won the 100 meter dash in a field of 22 sprinters in 10.91, was second of 19 in the long jump (21-5 ½), and was the anchor on the winning 4 X 100 relay team. Teammate Tyler Speitel was 11th of 20 in the 800 (2:02.30); and Franklin’s Corbin Lee was 15th of 18 in the 10,000 (37:16.28), while teammate Matthew Lee was 18th in the 10,000 (39:44.56).  Thomas was DQ’d in the 200 meters dash.

Vincennes’ Jahod Fair placed second of eight in the 400 hurdles (57.64) at the Olivet Nazarene Invitational.

MENS GOLF

Franklin placed fifth of eight teams at the Heartland Conference Championships. Robert Turner was fifth for Franklin and 26th of 43 overall with scores of 83-78-81-242.

BASEBALL

Parkland (29-10) won three of four games with Vincennes. Zyon Avery had five hits (two doubles), two RBIs, and two runs scored in 14 at bats in the four games and is hitting .360 (27 for 75).

Logan Butrum pitched one inning for Wabash (18-15) in a 15-9 loss to Washington, St. Louis and gave up two hits, three walks and two runs, while striking out one.

Central Methodist (40-5) defeated Parke twice. Isaiah Davis pinch ran for CMU in both games and scored two runs.
