The boys cross country team won their second meet of the season at Avon last Friday night. The Giants had the first through fourth place finishers as 13 of the 16 boys that raced set a new personal record in the 3K. It was a 37-18 win with Chris Hutto, Yosef Solomon, Kace Rhoades, and Ernest Momodu leading the way. BD will race in the Dave Bannon Invitational at Franklin Central on Saturday morning.

Volleyball

The volleyball team had a busy week, playing on four different occasions. After taking losses on Tuesday and Thursday against Brownsburg and Cardinal Ritter, the Giants went 1-2 in the Plainfield Invite and officially bounced back with a three set sweep on Monday night at Lawrence Central. BD had 74 attacks in the win against the Bears. The volleyball team will be back in action tonight at Pike. They will then host Decatur Central on Wednesday night before holding the Ben Davs Invite on Saturday morning.

Football

The Ben Davis football team fell to Brownsburg in their season opener 38-7. Dillon Moore had an interception on one end which led to him scoring the Giants’ sole touchdown on a 15 yard pass from J’uan Swanson. The Giants will seek their first victory of the year at Avon this Friday.

Girls soccer

The Lady Giants soccer team suffered two shutouts in the past week. They lost 6-0 at Cathedral last Wednesday and 8-0 vs Carmel on Monday. BD will play at LC on Wednesday and at Mooresville on Saturday morning.

Boys tennis
