WOMENS CROSS COUNTRY

Ball State placed sixth of 12 teams at the 6K Mid-American Conference Championships. Maritza Rodriguez was fourth for Ball State and 39th of 64 overall in 23:07.9.

FOOTBALL

 Reese Taylor had one solo tackle for Indiana (7-2, 4-2) in a 34-3 defeat of Northwestern. Jeremy Boyd also saw action for the Hoosiers.

James Barker played for Elmhurst (1-7, 1-6) in an 82-7 loss to North Central.

Sir Zion Dance had three solo tackles- one a sack- and one assisted tackle for Marian (7-0) in a 41-3 defeat of Taylor.

Willie Ervin played for Garden City Community College (8-2) in a 20-19 win against Hutchinson C.C.

Starting wide receiver Broc Thompson caught two passes, one for 18 yards and the other for eight, for Marshall (6-3) in a 20-7 win against Rice.

Jailyn Harden started at strong safety for Grand Valley State (8-1) in a 63-10 defeat of William Jewell.

Starting linebacker Asmar Bilal had five solo tackles and assisted on two for Notre Dame (6-2) in a 21-20 win against Virginia Tech.

Darius Randolph played fo Ohio Wesleyan (6-2, 5-2) in a 16-14 loss to Wooster.

Starting wide receiver Noah Thomas caught seven passes for 97 yards, including a 52 yard reception for his team’s first touchdown; returned a kickoff 16 yards; and carried the ball once for 12 yards, for Rose-Hulman  (6-2) in a 55-6 defeat of Defiance.

Mike Adams had two solo tackles and returned a kickoff 46 yards for St. Francis (5-2) in a 59-20 win against Lawrence Tech.

Jontae Dobson played for Southeast Missouri (6-3, 4-1) in a 32-13 win against Tennessee State.

WRESTLING

Purdue’s Dylan Lydy, competing at 174 pounds the Michigan State Open, defeated a Tiffin opponent 10-2 in the first round and a Buffalo wrestler 12-2 in round two before withdrawing as a result of an injury.

MENS CROSS COUNTRY

Franklin finished fifth of nine teams at the 8K Heartland Conference Championships. Matt Lee was seventh for Franklin and 63rd of 88 overall in 32:25. Corbin Lee was eighth for the Grizzlies and 66th overall in 33:24.

WOMENS CROSS COUNTRY

VOLLEYBALL

Purdue (15-6, 7-5) defeated Indiana 3-0 before losing 3-1 to Minnesota. Shavonna Cuttino had 4 kills with one error in eight attempts, two digs, and three assisted blocks in three sets against Indiana; and eight kills with three errors in 17 attempts, one solo block, five assisted blocks, and one blocking error in four sets against Minnesota.

WOMENS SOCCER

Franklin earned a third place seed in the Heartland Championship Tournament with a 2-0 win against Transylvania and a 1-0 defeat of Mount St.Joseph. Taylor McDaniel played in both matches and had three shots on goal against Transylvania.

WOMENS BASKETBALL

 Tuskegee opened its season with a 78-73 win against Georgia State. Shelle Daniels had nine points (4 for 7, 0 for 0, 1 for 4), a team high nine rebounds, one assist, one steal, and four turnovers in 24 minutes for the winners before fouling out.

Lincoln (1-2) defeated Roosevelt 86-68 and lost 67-55 to William Woods. Erynn Young had 29 points (13 for 21, 1 for 4, 2 for 7), 14 rebounds, four blocked shots, four assists, and two turnovers in the win; and 18 points (7 for 20, 2 for 5, 2 for 6), nine rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, two steals, and five turnovers in the loss.

MENS BASKETBALL

Taylor (2-0) defeated Great Lakes Christian 95-83 and Judson 70-65. Jeff Clayton played 10 minutes against Great Lakes and had four rebounds, one assist, and one missed shot. In 11 minutes against Judson, he had two points (1 for 2), two rebounds, and one turnover.

Jalen Windham played 21 minutes for Creighton in a 95-63 exhibition win against McKendree and had four points ( 2 for 8, 0 for 4, 0 for 0), two rebounds, and one turnover.
