WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD

Ball State’s Maritza Rodriguez was first of 10 in the mile run (5:17.61) at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational. Meliza Rodriguez was third (5:33.35).

The University of Southern Indiana’s Ralen Campbell placed 31st of 54 in the 60 meter dash (8.61) and 15th of 16 in the long jump (14-11  ½) at the University of Indianapolis Collegiate Challenge.

MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD

Competing for Franklin College at the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Invite, Nathan Adams was third of 19 in the weight throw event (52-5 ½).

Indianapolis’ DeAndre Bluitt won the high jump event in a field of 18 at the Indianapolis Collegiate Challenge (6-6 3/4).  The Greyhounds’Jordan Boyd was second of 46 in the shot put (51-6 ½) and second of 31 in the weight throw (52-1 ¾). University of Southern Indiana sprinter Kirk Quartey was 64th of 77 in the 60 meter dash (7.72) and 63rd of 71 in the 200 (26.14).

Purdue’s Jalil Brewer, competing at the Clemson Invitational in South Carolina, was ninth of 18 in the shot put (54-7 1/8).

Indiana Tech’s Maurice Macklin was second of seven in the 800 meters at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational (2:01.03).

Competing at the NCAA-NAIA Challenge at Olivet Nazarene University, Marian’s Aaron Murray won the 400 meter dash in a field of 23 runners (51.69) and was 10th of 44 in the 200 (23.09).  He and teammate Mousa Conde were members of the 4 X 400 relay team which finished fourth  in a  field of 17 teams.

WRESTLING

Purdue lost 43-6 to Penn State, with the only points provided by a forfeit at 125 pounds. The Boilers’ Dylan Lydy, ranked 12th in the nation at 174 pounds,  lost 11-3 to the No. 2 ranked Nittany Lion.  Lydy came back to win his next match 10-3, defeating his Illini opponent  in Illinois’ 24-12 defeat of Purdue.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Tuskegee (3-14, 2-7) defeated LeMoyne-Owen 68-54 and lost 68-60 to Central State. Shelle Daniels led Tuskegee in scoring with 18 points (7 for 12, 2 for 3, 2 for 2,) and had 10 rebounds, one assist, one blocked shot, three steals, and three turnovers in 20 minutes in  the win; and had three points (1 for 5, 0 for 1, 1 for 1), five rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two turnovers  in nine minutes in the loss.

Imani Graham played 14 minutes for DePauw (17-1, 9-0) in a 64-31 defeat of Ohio Wesleyan and had two points (1 for 3), one rebound, one steal, and two turnovers.

Ancilla (14-2, 4-1) won 97-73 against Jackson and 88-52 against Grand Rapids. Shae Daniels had seven points (2 for 4, 0 for 0, 3 for 8), six rebounds, one assist, one steal, and six blocked shots against Jackson; and four points (1 for 2, 0 for 0, 2 for 4), six rebounds, four steals, and four turnovers against Grand Rapids.

Lincoln (15-1) won 100-30 against Robert Morris and 75-64 against Carl Sandburg. Erynn Young had 16 points (7 for 15, 0 for 4, 2  for 3), six rebounds, six assists, one steal, two blocked shots, and two turnovers against Robert Morris; and a team high 27 points (11 for 19, 0 for 3, 5 for 5), 20 rebounds, three assists, four steals, six blocked shots, and five turnovers against Sandburg.

Jessie Kee led Kaskaskia (7-6, 2-4) with 16 points (6 for 16, 2 for 7, 2 for 2), and had seven rebounds, one steal, two blocked shots, and five turnovers before fouling out in a 76-60 loss to Lincoln Trail.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Millikin (8-9, 1-7) lost 78-62 to Indiana Wesleyan and 92-81 to Carthage. Mike Beaty had 12 points (4 for 8, 1 for 4, 3 for 4), three rebounds, one steal, one assist, and two turnovers in 17 minutes against IWU; and 12 points (3 for 13, 1 for 6, 5 for 7), two rebounds, one assist, three steals, and one turnover in 32 minutes against Carthage.

IU-East (19-2, 8-0) defeated IU-Kokomo 87-77 and Cincinnati Christian 83-70. Datrion Harper had eight points  (3 for 4, 1 for 2, 1 for 2), one steal, and one assist in 13 minutes against Kokomo; and four points (2 for 6, 0 for 1, 0 for 0) and one rebound in 11 minutes against Cincinnati Christian.

Lincoln Trail  (5-11, 2-7) lost 74-47 to Kaskaskia and defeated Rend Lake 81-73. Kyle Finch had five points (2 for 2, 0 for 0, 1 for 2) and three rebounds against  Kaskaskia; and two points (1 for 1), three rebounds, and three turnovers before fouling out against Rend Lake.

Jalen Newsom had eight points (3 for 4, 2 for 3, 0 for 0), one rebound, one assist, and two turnovers for Wabash Valley (11-6, 4-3) in a 90-86 loss to John Logan.
