Ben Davis will travel to North Central Friday night as the Giants open defense of their MIC football championship.

The Giants are 1-1 after losing 34-7 at Cincinnati St. Xavier while North Central is 0-2. The Panthers have played two conference games and nearly upset defending state champion and Class 6A No. 1 Lawrence Central (2-0) last weekend before losing 34-31.

The highlight game of the conference this weekend is No. 2 Center Grove (2-0) visiting No. 5 Carmel (1-1). Other conference action finds Lawrence North (0-2) hosting Warren Central (2-0), Pike (1-1) hosting Tech and Lawrence Central hosting Louisville Trinity.
