The Ben Davis boys basketball team is riding an eight-game win streaking heading into Tuesday’s Marion County tourney opener at Lawrence North.

The Giants are coming off a weekend sweep of North Central and George Washington and have won eight straight since losses to Fishers and Zionsville in the first two games of the season.

Lawrence North is 7-2 and is two-time defending Marion County champions. The second round of the tourney is Wednesday (BD will host if they win Tuesday) with the semifinals Friday and the final Saturday. The weekend games will be at Southport.

In other winter sports action, the girls basketball team travels to Columbus North Tuesday night before hosting Pike Saturday for Senior Night. The girls are 10-6. Wrestling has two home matches this week, Tuesday they host Avon and Thursday they host Brownsburg. Both matches start at 6 p.m. in the main gym.

The girls bowling team, won sectionals this past weekend and will compete in regional action this Saturday and the swim team is scheduled to host Speedway and International on Thursday.
