In my opinion, the top 2 most overrated foods are pasta and lasagna.
First, let’s talk about pasta.
I remember the first time I ever tasted pasta, was when I was in third grade. It was lunch time, and I remember wanting to try this cuisine that looked pretty nice. “It was pasta,” my friend said.
I was immediately attracted, but now that I am thinking about it, I really played myself. I tried it, thinking it would levitate me, but it was absolutely horrible.
I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt because it is from school, and not an actual restaurant. So, later that same week, I begged my mom to take me out to eat. Upon getting there, I immediately asked for pasta.
You would have told me I won the lottery, with the way I yelled. And to absolutely no one’s surprise, it was even more disappointing. It was tasteless and dry. “What a shame,” I thought to myself. Ever since then, I haven’t eaten pasta.
At one point in time I truly believed lasagna was the greatest food ever. Don’t you ever just watch Garfield and think, “wow this guy has it nice.”
I mean he gets lasagna every single day, and it looks absolutely scrumptious. Why wouldn’t I envy that lifestyle? One day my mom told me that we were going to her friend’s house, and weirdly enough she had lasagna. It smelled amazing and it reminded me of pizza, so I didn’t think too much of it.
She put it on a nice plate and served it to everyone. I took the first bite and almost spat it out. It tasted horrible. I am almost certain it was 90% tomato paste and 10% of whatever else. I am pretty sure my mom’s friend saw me gag, so she ran up to me and asked if I was okay. I ended up just saying “yes,” and making an excuse that I only reacted that way because it was hot. My mom’s friend totally didn’t buy it, but at the level I was, I didn’t even care. In conclusion, do not believe everything you see on TV.
