Ben Davis High School is getting renovated, and honestly, I have mixed feelings about it. I think it’s cool that our school is getting a fresh new look – New halls, a new and bigger cafeteria, new commons, new Spirit Shop. That all sounds great.
tt shows that the community cares about the students and wants to improve things for future classes. But at the same time, it feels kind of weird.
This is the building we’ve all gotten used to. It’s where we’ve made so many memories—walking through crowded hallways, sitting in our usual lunch spots, etc.
Changing all of that makes it feel like we’re losing a part of our history. It’s like the old version of Ben Davis is a part of us, and now it’s going to look completely different.
Also, renovations can be annoying while they’re happening. There’s noise, things get moved around, and sometimes it makes getting to class harder than it already is. But I get that it’s all for the better in the long run.
Overall, I think the renovations are a good thing. It’s exciting to see our school grow and become even better. It feels good knowing we are going to be a part of the big changes. Ben Davis will still be Ben Davis, just with a glow up.
