I think the cell phone ban shouldn’t be thing because some kids need it to speak to their guardian and it could be life saver in dangerous situations.

And students use their phone for many good things in school, not even just contacting parents. Everyone has the freedom to have a phone and we should be able to use it anytime. Banning the phones can limit accessibility for things.

I understand that using the phones while the teacher is teaching is wrong, but banning completely is too far. There are many scenarios about us needing the phone that I can use like what if there is a school shooter and the kids need to contact their parents Avon parents recently expressed their displeasure with the cell phone ban when a middle schooler was found with an unloaded gun in school. Those parents were upset with the lack of communication.

Cell phones aren’t potential danger as much as they are safety. Phones bring more socialization between students during schools. No matter what rules are there, most of the students use their phones during class anyway. It can help students stay engaged in class and interactive activities. And cell phones can also prepare students for the real world.

Cell phones also teach students how to use technology early. It is a good source if it is used correctly and can help accelerate a students learning. I feel like students feel safer when they have access to their phone.

Students can use their phones to participate in online activities especially if they are school related. Phones also allow students to easily access useful tools and get more information about things they don’t know about.

Many students use their phones for schedules and to check their grades and set reminders of upcoming due dates and tests just so they can be on top of their grades. I understand we have chromebooks, but they do not always work.

I do think that cell phones should be limited and used for educational purposes unless they are told that they can do other things on it. Just so it can limit distraction for some students but they are helpful. I think some teachers shouldn’t be mad about them unless they aren’t used at the time they should be. There could be unexpected family emergencies that I feel kids should know about.
