Located just south of Ben Davis is a neighborhood park , Chapel Hill Park.
For years, it’s been a go-to spot whether it’s to relax , play basketball , after-school hangs, or family picnics, Chapel Hill Park is a place for many to enjoy. Now, thanks to a $2 million investment from the Lilly Endowment, this six-acre park is about to get a major upgrade and we the community are looking forward to the improvement and changes.
Located beside Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, the park used to offer basketball and tennis courts, along with a playground. But big changes are coming.
The funding will go toward a full replacement of the playground, an upgrade to the basketball court and baseball field, and the addition of several new features – new pickleball courts, a splash pad, and a comfort station for families and visitors.
Currently, Chapel Hill Park is temporarily closed as construction has begun for the renovations. The city has yet to announced an official date as to when that’ll be done but Chapel Hill Park is on track to become one of the vibrant go-to green spaces.
