Are you curious about what the 2024 winter season is going to be like? Will it be heavy, light, freezing, or cool?
Well thankfully, we will not be expecting anything close to the blizzardous winter of January 26, 1978. This year we are in for a cold, wet, and snowy winter.
The Farmer’s Almanac – widely recognized as the best predictor of long range weather forecasts – predicts that snowfall will be above normal, with the coldest periods being late December through mid February.
The National Weather Service predicts a very wet winter this year, however, they expect an average temperature for this winter.
Additional reports from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration predict a warmer but definitely wet winter due to possibly frequent rainfalls.
Kevin Gregory, a Ben Davis graduate and a meteorologist at WRTV Indianapolis says it’s too early to make accurate predictions on the winter season.
“It’s still pretty early for the winter forecast,” Gregory said. “As always, make sure to prepare, stay warm, and have a lovely winter.”
It will be here before you know it.
