MSD of Wayne Township honors new reading volunteers
Seven organizations have joined the ranks of Premier Partners in the MSD of Wayne Township’s HOSTS program.
HOSTS, which stands for Help One Student To Succeed, has attracted more than 1,000 community volunteers. These volunteers spend an hour each week helping second and third graders learn important reading skills.
To be a Premier Partner, an organization must commit at least four of its employees to the HOSTS program. The program now has 67 Premier Partners, including seven new organizations that were recognized at the January 11 meeting of the MSD Wayne Board of Education.
The newest Premier Partners for HOSTS are Commonwealth Biomonitoring, Drexel Gardens Christian Church, Indy West Army Recruiting, Navy Recruiting Station Indy West, OmniSource, Spirit of Life Church, and United Healthcare.
If you’d like more information about becoming a HOSTS volunteer mentor, call 988-8675, or visit http://www.wayne.k12.in.us/hosts/.
