Senior officers sponsor Food Drive

The annual Ben Davis Thanksgiving Food Drive begins this Wednesday and runs through Nov. 18.

The Food Drive is sponsored by the Ben Davis Senior Class Officers and is the largest single project of the school year.

This project feeds more than 300 families district wide and costs more than $7,000.00 to fund.  Each family then receives a turkey, milk, bread, eggs and three bags of groceries.

There are several different ways in which you can help to make this a success:

1)       Collect non-perishable food items in your 1st period class.  As you collect food items place them in a bag.  Keep count of the number of items you collect.  As you fill a bag, put your name on it and bring to the Main Office.  The class that collects the most food items will win a free HOT breakfast prepared by the “Waffle Guy.”

2)       Provide monetary donations.  All checks can be made payable to Ben Davis High School.  If you collect cash and/or change, you can bring it to the Main Office and we will receipt it for you.

3)       You can sponsor a family for ONLY $25.  See Melissa Edwards for details on sponsoring a family.

The goal of the Senior Class Officers is to have each first period class collect $25 and three bags of food.  By meeting this goal, we will be able to feed more families in our township and stock up on our pantry. In addition to Edwards, physical education teachers Marci Royalty and Jessica Hobbs help in this project.
