Plans underway for CollegeGO! week

Colleges to waive application fees for a week

College GO! Week encourages students to complete practical college-readiness activities at each grade level, including creating a graduation plan, visiting college campuses and applying to college.

Many Indiana colleges are waiving application fees in support of College GO! Week. Students and families can learn more about fee waivers, grade-specific checklists and related college-planning resources on the College GO! Week website at CollegeGoWeekIndiana.org.” IN.gov

The official week for college GO! week this year is September 22-26. Have you ever felt overwhelmed with college applications? If so, you’re not the only one. Below is a checklist to make the picking a college process a lot easier.

A definite checklist students in high school should go through is:

  • Research multiple colleges
  • Visit the colleges that most interest you
  • Review the colleges
  • Sign up for the ones that most interest you
  • Compare the colleges.

During college GO! week, Ben Davis will be busy. Between college visits and door decorating contests and dress up days, you will feel the college frenzy.

The on site admission fair will be held on September 22, 2015 in the commons during all lunch periods. On the Friday of CollegeGO!, seniors and a select handful of juniors will be taking a trip to ISU. During this week a 21st century scholars meeting will be held and financial aid 101 will be held.
