Wayne Township Education Foundation funds $11,000 for classroom programs

The Wayne Township Education Foundation recently awarded more than $11,000 to school district teachers and administrators during its latest round of grants. The following schools and staff members received funding for their schools:

Document Cameras & Literacy in the 21st Century Classroom – Chapel Glen Elementary

Teachers: Brandon Warren, Chuck Cowley, Krista Henning, Shelly Hindman

Stout Field Elementary School Wide Children’s Museum Membership

Teacher: Amber Isom

Collaboration Café and Student Lounge – Chapel Hill 7th & 8th Grade Center

Principal: Sheri Patterson

Bring the Performing Arts Programming to Wayne Township Preschool

Teachers: Wendy Barnhart, Lauri Piskorowski

Taking the Ben Davis School Newspaper Online – Ben Davis – Funded through Bill Rogers Making a Difference Grant. Teacher: Tom Hayes

Book Buddy Bags – Wayne Township Preschool

Teachers: Lisa Cordle, Kari Russell, Angie Herniak, Sarah Lockhart-Smith, Allison Kempers

 

The Wayne Township Education Foundation funds grants three times each year, in addition to the matching grant program it funds through DonorsChoose.org.

This year the Foundation will award $100,000 to fund classroom and school programs, scholarships for Ben Davis seniors and recognition events for students and staff members. The Wayne Township Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that is a community catalyst to enrich, engage, and stimulate student learning by supporting school programs and recognizing excellence throughout the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township.

The Foundation raises funds through personal and corporate donations as well as community events.
