Veterans memorial sculpture unveiled at Lynhurst
A new sculpture sits in the veterans memorial garden at Lynhurst 7th & 8th Grade Center.
The veterans memorial garden was dedicated in May and the new sculpture was dedicated this past Wednesday. It was created by a student organization called the Lynhurst Environmental Action Posse (LEAP) under the leadership of history teacher Christopher Moore.
Moore and the students received the support of Keep Indianapolis Beautiful and other community organizations in making the garden a reality. The new sculpture was designed and created by veteran and sculptor Brett Harbour (pictured here).
It displays the words “leadership,” “honor,” and “courage.” Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, American Legion Wayne Post 64, Mission Continues, VFW Post 908, and the Bose McKinney & Evans LLP have supported the veterans garden through funding and volunteer work.
“This sculpture will always honor veterans for the leadership, honor, and courage they have shown our great country,” Moore said.
