Media Specialist Kathy Hicks-Brook is our 2014 You Make a Difference winner for April once again. Is it just a coincidence that she won in April last year?

Hicks-Brook has been a Media Specialist for 14 years. Hicks-Brook spent her first seven years at Drew Elementary in Gary, IN and spent seven more here at BD.

She explains why she loves to do her job.

“Turning kids onto good books,” Hicks-Brook said.

She shares that she is much more than a librarian and does much more than we think for BD.

“I am the librarian. Also I am in charge of the Jewelry Club and Battle of The Books. Lastly, I support teachers if they need help,” Hicks-brook said.
