Humanity: Blink, I dare you

What happens when we see something out of the corner of our eye. For most, they dismiss it and think it is a trick. But what if it is not? What if it is a way to see the things our eyes cannot see.

It is difficult to say what we see in the corner of our eye. It could be a trapped spirit. It could be a tortured soul, trapped in an alternate reality. For all we know, it could be the future.

Now I know this sounds crazy, but why do we dismiss it? If we did not trust our eyes, then we would not still be using them. But yet we do and we trust everything that we see because sight is one of the few things we can trust. We cannot trust people all the time due to them being them. We cannot trust our thoughts and ourselves half the time. But we can always rely on our senses, especially sight.

I think that we dismiss it because we are afraid. We are afraid of society. Society, the creator of phones, computers, the interweb, and other things. We are afraid of what society would think of us and how that could reflect on us as a person. We also are afraid of what we might see. What if we see a spirit, or a creature, or something we cannot explain? Will we have the power to control ourselves over the answer to the mystery or will we give in to whatever troubles lie in the corner of the eye?

This is probably crazy, but what is crazy anymore? Everyone thought that many great minds were crazy before we (the people of the future) learned what they knew and understood what they meant. I just feel sorry for those who may be trapped in that sliver of our vision.
