I just got out of the theater after watching Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle and wow, my heart is still pounding.
This movie is full of action, scary demons, and super cool sword fights. The story is about Tanjiro, Nezuko, the Hashira, and all the Demon Slayers who get stuck inside a creepy, shifting demonic fortress where they have to face their worst fears and the strongest demons. It’s part one of the final battle against Muzan, so there’s a lot riding on it.
One of the best things about the movie is definitely the animation. The fight scenes looked so smooth and epic — swords clashing, demons screaming, dramatic backgrounds glowing with effects. At some points I felt like I was inside the castle with them. Many reviewers agree it’s “visually dazzling” and that animation is one of its strongest parts.
Also, the emotional moments hit hard. There are times when characters remember past losses or talk about what they believe in, and those parts made me feel sad or excited or scared.
The movie is perfect. The best part was Akaza’s flashback. You get to see what Akaza went through on why he became a demon. It is a real tear jerker.
Seeing the other dojo’s team up and kill the only people that cared about Hakuji(Akaza). They killed his fiance and her dad. Just when it seemed like his life was going great. He hits rock bottom, then kills everybody in his way.
Another great thing is the pacing. The movie is super long—about 155 minutes (that’s two and a half hours!). It gives us so much more content in one sitting then having to wait every week for a new episode to watch. With it being a movie it gives the animators 10x more time. They can take their time and don’t have to rush every week to pump out episodes.
Overall, I’d say Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is a must-see if you’re already a fan and love action and demons. If you don’t know the show, it might be hard to follow, but the animation and emotion still make it worth a try. I’d give it 8 out of 10. I’m excited for the next parts so I can see how the final battle ends.
