The King of Kings (2025) is a beautifully animated retelling of the life of Jesus Christ, creatively narrated by Charles Dickens to his son.
That concept alone was unique and surprisingly touching. It gave the story a very human, storytelling vibe that made it feel personal and engaging. The animation was really well done, and the emotional moments hit in all the right places.
You could tell a lot of care went into making this film visually and emotionally appealing. It definitely had a heartwarming and uplifting tone overall, which I appreciated. That said, it’s not entirely biblically accurate, and that might bother some viewers who are looking for a faithful, word for word gospel account.
I get that the time frame limits what can be included, but a few creative liberties stood out. Still, the core message of Jesus’ love, sacrifice, and resurrection came through clearly.
All in all, it’s a great film to watch with family or even on your own if you want something that brings the gospel to life in a new and artistic way. Just go in knowing it’s more of a narrative adaptation than a strict retelling.
The way they told the story of Jesus was powerful, heartfelt, and so well thought out.I loved how they didn’t shy away from showing the intense moments of Jesus’s life, the struggles, the pain, the sacrifice. It helped bring the reality of His journey to life in a way that kids can understand. It was emotional, real, and so beautifully done.
The characters, the mom, dad, the boy, and even the cat were the perfect guides for telling this sacred story. The script was moving, and I felt completely immersed, like I was walking through the story alongside them.
I cried so much, but in the best way. I left the theater feeling closer to Jesus and God, like they were right there in my heart. This movie isn’t just a film, it’s an experience. Whether you’re a child or an adult, this is something truly special to witness.
