Your guide to Indiana Comic Con

Fun event comes to downtown Indy this weekend

Indiana Comic Con is just around the corner, so suit up in your best cosplay and get your three day passes ready.

Indiana Comic Con is August 30-September 1 at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown Indianapolis. Many famous people can be seen attending and there will be plenty of interesting costumes to take pictures of.

Now you will need to know what time it opens and closes. It opens on Friday August 30 at noon and ends at midnight, then on Saturday 10 a.m. to midnight (they close the exhibit hall at 7 p.m. both nights). On Sunday it opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.

Tickets for all three days are $60 dollars, while for the separate days are $30 for Friday, $40 for Saturday and $30 dollars for Sunday. Remember these tickets are nonrefundable.

Now you have tickets and you are trying to decide if you want to cosplay well you’re in luck because you can cosplay as anything with a little spandex or a wig. Wigs will be one of your best friends when cosplaying, but don’t just buy the cheapest wig — it just doesn’t look good and will cost you in the long run when you want to reuse that wig.

You don’t have to buy the most expensive wig, the best tip for buying wigs online is too read the reviews online so you can get the best wig for your budget. If you don’t want to permanently dye your hair you can use non-permanent hair dye that you can spray in. It’s a miracle worker in times of need when you have the same hair length as the person you.

Now for costumes, you will need to put a lot of thought into your costume because if you are embarrassed to wear it again then it wasn’t a very good cosplay. You should cosplay as something you like rather than what is trendy, you will still get compliments. If you want to dress up as something that’s not well known some will know while others ask, it’s all part of the fun. Cosplay done and tickets bought it’s time to figure what booths you want to visit.

Comic Cons are full of people to visit, from famous too local vendors. It’s fun for everyone. You will need a map.

Some of the celebrity guests who are coming to Indiana are Walter Rook, Ron Perlman,Walter Koenig (STAR TREK!!!!!), David Yost, Kyle Herbert (voice actor for Gohan in Dragon Ball series) and many more. You can have your picture taken and have their autographs for a price, so make sure you bring your money.

Another thing this is a great thing to go with as a group. It’s a super fun date, or hang out with your pals. Couple and group cosplay are really fun to do. Whether it is your first convention or not, the Indiana Comic Con  is a great way to meet people with the same interests as you and have the time of your life.
