Yearbook has big plans

Spring delivery on the schedule for this school year

The Keyhole yearbook is in its 84th year of publishing and for the first time in recent memory, the book will be delivered before the end of school.

“We hope to create some additional sales with getting a book in students hands in May,” yearbook advisor Tom Hayes said. “It will be a challenge for us, but fun.”

The yearbook will continue to produce a 228 page history book of the school year. This year’s theme is Humans of Ben Davis with the book highlighting the students and staff who make up the school.

The yearbook staff will produce a 200 page book that will be sent to the printer during spring break. That book will be printed and ready for distribution by May 20. The staff will continue to produce a 28-page “spring supplement” that will be mailed to all yearbook purchasers in August. The supplement will include a glue strip that can be used to glue the supplement into the back of the book.

The challenge for the yearbook staff will be to meet even sooner deadlines.

“It will change how we conduct business during the year and it will make us a better staff and a better book,” Hayes said. “We are excited about this year’s challenges.”

The time to order your 2017 yearbook is now. The Early Bird Special price of $70 ends at the end of August. Books can be ordered at Back to School Night in the commons this Thursday or anytime through the publications room (X109). An online ordering system is also available at www.yearbookforever.com
