Day in the life at BD

Spotlight photographers spent Wednesday walking the halls and photographing a typical day in the life of Ben Davis High School. Here is what the day looked like:

 

6:53 a.m. – Senior Reem Negash (right) presents radio instructor Jon Easter with a dozen donuts as a gift from student publications in celebration of National High School Radio Day.

7:01 a.m. – Lifeskills teacher Lauren Pfister (left) and Cody Dooley prepare to sell breakfast items in the commons.

7:12 a.m. – A group of Career Center students head to the Area 31 entrance.

8:27 a.m. — A group of sophomores enjoy a free breakfast during the annual Top 50 breakfast celebration in Le Gallery. Principal Sandra Squire honors the Top 50 students from the junior and sophomore classes each year with this breakfast.

9:17 a.m. – Custodian Coco Rowe waxes the cafeteria floor prior to lunch periods.

9:29 a.m. – Senior Larry Parish (left) and sophomore Amber Gaddy put together a prop in tech theatre class that will be used in the upcoming production of Pinocchio.

9:44 a.m. — Junior Florian Sager throws a ball during the physical education class in the main gym.

9:55 a.m. – Lunch lady Sharon Colbert prepares french fries for the weekly Wednesday lunch that always includes fries.

10:40 a.m. – Sophomores Diante Denny and Kaitlyn Akers enjoy a laugh during 4th period lunch.

11:17 a.m. – Counselor Mike Horning checks a message while doing his on-call duty during lunch periods.

12:46 p.m. – Transfer student Alyssa Brown-Weathers practices checking blood pressure during her career center class.

1:01 p.m. –  Sophomore Jessica Benitez laughs at a joke while working in the print room in the career center.

1:12 p.m. – Principal Sandra Squire checks her email during ninth period. Squire is in her second year as principal.

1:37 p.m. – Math teacher Dee Dowler laughs while trying to teach equations.

1:50 p.m. – English teacher Bobby Chin makes a point about Arthur Miller’s Death of a Saleman.
